i've been to your beautiful part of the world and know, too, what you mean about Texas music, i grew up outside of Austin, Texas, the 70s and 80s were definitely the best time to be there...i'm really very old, 51!! so, i remember the really good stuff before they started hacking up Austin for subdivisions....even my little home town doesn't look anything like it did when i was growing up...we are in MN now, my husband's native state and at least Steve Earle knows where this is...i was able to see him three times just this year...he is the best....i liked Townes, too, and was able to see Gram Parsons in Austin when I was about 16 or 17, i think, that was right before he went home for good...
