I just found this today in the St. Paul paper, that Minneapolis rag doesn't do **((&&^ for Steve....

Steve and Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello are going to headline a concert and festival on Harriet Island (one of the beautiful lakes and islands in Minneapolis) Labor Day, Sept. 1.  That's the day the GOP's national convention starts in downtown St. Paul.  The festival will run from noon to 7 p.m.

 The show is sponsored by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and will also feature Allison and John Edwards (just my opinion only, i could live without him....but....) and other SEIU speakers.  It says there will be other acts added to the bill in the next weeks.

Wow, I think Steve should just buy a little rambler in Minneapolis and have a place to stay when he's here!!  Can't wait for this show....I wish you all could be here with me, we would have a great time!!!

I now realize that way back when...(at Christmas, was it?) when you said you would pray for all of us whether we wanted you to or not...that anybody you pray for is LUCKY!  Just think about the number of years you prayed that you would get to see Steve Earle live, in your region, even if only for a moment!  By the time you sleep on Sept. 1, you will have seen him 3 times in just a few months!  :)  I don't know what one calls that kind of miracle, but it sure as fuck doesn't look like a coincidence to me!  Here's to more of your prayers being answered!  I couldn't be happier for you darlin'!

PS.  I very recently heard my first ever Tom Morello tune.  :)  He is truly a voice of the people...wow...you are going to have a really great time!  DS.

thank you, as always, for your kind remarks, i don't know what i would have done without you guys, too, all of these months...i guess maybe i am doing something right, being able to see Steve so much and being able to stay clean...

i will be leaving saturday morning for Duluth, will check in on Sunday!!

I haven't heard any details about tickets. I hope you don't have to be SEIU member to get in! Or should I say "on", since it's an island? Frankly, I'm surprised the RNC security goons are letting Steve get that close to the Xcel center during the convention.

hey friends...i mispoke, or miswrote, this rally is going to be at Lake Harriet, not Harriet Island...it's different...you can go to the SEIU website to check out more...i will try and find out other details myself...

if anyone is coming to MN for this, please let me know and we can get together for a party before!!!

ha on the GOP....i am a recovering, or former, GOP member myself....finally got out when the getting was good...

Steve Earle AND Tom Morello! Two of the baddest f**kers in the music industry in America living and breathing today - AT THE SAME SHOW!!! Now I am truly envious. Whatever you do Joanna, do NOT skip Morello's set. The man is incredible.

babe.....i sure wish you were here to go with us!!!!  i am going to be there about 9 a.m., i'll take a book or my MP3 and just wait....i reckon it will be the last time Steve's in this area for awhile, and that is heartbreaking....but, i will be living on the memories of seeing him 3 times in one year!!! 

i will definitely stay for Tom's part of the show, well, i plan to be over there til it's all over, i think....my oldest boy is coming up from school in Iowa just for Tom's part of the show...he has a 3 hour drive back to school, so he probably won't be there for the whole deal...he will miss Steve if he can manage, it i'm sure...what can i say?  he didn't get my Steve Earle DNA...
